2020 Oslo Tram is an industrial design diploma project by Mikkel Brandt Bugge and Taral Jansen, conducted during spring 2015. The diploma is a realistic design vision for the new Oslo trams.
In 2017, the new tram model for Oslo will have been chosen, and a customisation process will be conducted to make the trams fit the identity and needs of Oslo. Our project delivery is a holistic design package of exterior and interior design, with the aim to inspire the municipality of Oslo´s in their tram purchasing process.
The 2020 Oslo tram features a tram design inspired by Scandinavian simplicity suitable for Oslo, functional ideas such as exterior illuminating lines, smart flow and high capacity interior, a practical driver’s room and active exterior screen for improved product experience.
* The project received great feedback and won 3 design awards in 2015/2016.
